LOOK D CHOY NGA Yi

Taking inspiration from ancient European nobility and traditional Chinese women's spring outing attire, this design combines traditional qipao essences like Mandarin collar, flower buttons, crossover front, and side slits, with the shortened two-piece inner skirt style popular in ancient Western fashion. The overall approach blends Western materials with Chinese tailoring, resulting in a more avant-garde, practical, youthful, and creative modern Chinese style.

This design incorporates the red-white-blue theme with denim fabric to create a contemporary streetwear vibe, and the vest resembling a puffy down jacket adds texture and dimensions to the ensemble, while the denim bucket hat adds a touch of casual holiday touch.

This design combines light and dark blue denim, laser-printed denim, blue and red sailboat patterned fabric, and elements of the traditional Chinese Ruyi如意 pattern that symbolizes luck and happiness in Chinese culture, blending Eastern and Western elements to exuberate cultural heritage but in a young and casual style.

The design is rich in texture and details, but at the same time it emphasizes versatility, practicality and young street fashion vibe. Part of the jacket can be detached and transformed into a shopping bag, and the jacket also allows the wearer to adapt the thickness according to weather conditions, enhancing both comfort and practicality.

The matching of the whole shape is designed concerning how men wear long Tang robes with trousers. Because Tang robes are initially men’s clothing, my idea is to design a long Tang robe for women instead of cheongsam.

The tops are designed with the iconic cheongsam elements like the Xiaofengxian小鳳仙Mandarin collar, and the jacket uses a buckle design for The sleeves were designed with reference to the long robe as well.

The loose silhouette allows for easy movement and a sense of liberation, the top is inspired by the cake skirts that young girls often wear. Off-shoulder design and wide-leg jeans design echo the current “layered and loose” youth fashion trend.

The denim-printed bucket adds a playful and casual vibe.

East-meets-west baseball jacket with Mandarin collar and knot buttons gives off a young sporty vibe and a unique Chinese fashion style. The sleeves are detachable for practicality so it can be worn even in the summer.

A Chinese dragon is embroidered in the front to symbolize strength power, and the dragon on the back is adorned with a globe with postage stamps and the words "Bon Voyage," symbolizing smooth travels and at the same time complementing the fabric print.

Hawaiian shirt and shorts underneath the baseball jacket radiate a summer casual feel; Hawaiian shirt evokes images of sunshine and beaches, adding a sense of travel. The entire ensemble is crafted with printed fabric, adorned with jade buttons as jade holds great significance in Chinese culture and serves as a distinguishing symbol of Chinese civilization.
