DRAGON BOAT PARADE
This pattern is inspired by the dragon boat head on display in ICHO - Sam Tung Uk Museum. The Tai O Dragon Boat Parade is on the HK Intangible Cultural Heritage list as well as included in the third batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project List in 2011. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, the three traditional fishing guilds in Tai O organize the traditional "Dragon Boat Parade" religious event, and tow the deity boats to four temples in Tai O to "receive the deities". After the ritual activities, the small statues are returned to their respective temples in the afternoon. This unique ritual has been passed down for over a hundred years.
