ICHO (SAM TUNG UK MUSEUM) / HK HERITAGE MUSEUM - CULTURAL INHERITANCE GOLD COLLECTION

In Chinese culture, gold has always symbolized prosperity, strength, power, love and everlasting good fortune. It is a must-have for all celebratory events, from weddings to birthdays to Chinese New Year; it is something of great value, to be kept forever, and passed on to future generations. In short, gold is a precious inheritance.
.
This Cultural Inheritance Gold Collection features new HK Chinese style qipaos that are sophisticated yet bold and playful at the same time, made of shimmery brocade fabric in soft muted golden pastels, in original patterns inspired by the old store gate, old mailbox and lucky windmill on display in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and also listed on the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Office’s ICH representative list under “Galvinised Iron Product Making Technique” and Che Kung Festival (車公誕) in “Social Practices, Rituals and Festive Events”.
